Visiting a New Church Can Feel Overwhelming
We want to make your first Sunday simple, warm, and clear. Hickory Presbyterian Church is a growing community that gathers each week to worship Christ, hear His Word, pray together, and enjoy genuine fellowship.
A Warm Welcome
You will be greeted by people who are genuinely glad you are here. Our church family includes young adults, families, retirees, and children. Whether you have been in church for years or are exploring Christianity for the first time, you are welcome.
Christ Centered Worship
Our service is simple, reverent, and joyful. We sing hymns, read Scripture, confess our faith, pray, and hear the preaching of God’s Word. Everything centers on Jesus Christ.
Biblical Preaching
We walk through books of the Bible verse by verse. Our aim is to exalt Christ, apply the gospel to everyday life, and strengthen believers for the week ahead.
Service Length
Our worship service normally lasts about one hour.
What Should I Wear
Some come in jeans. Some come in dresses or button ups. Wear whatever is comfortable for you. We care far more about you than what you wear.
Families & Children
Children are welcome in the service. We love having little ones with us. Families can sit anywhere they feel comfortable.

Meet the Pastor |
|
Rev. Tripp Castell
Tripp grew up in Hickory and came to Christ through a church plant 25 years ago. He has served in pastoral ministry for many years, including helping plant a church in Charlotte and pastoring in Lincolnton. The Lord has now called him back home to plant Hickory Presbyterian Church.
Pastor Tripp’s preaching is expository, pastoral, Christ centered, and rooted in the Reformed tradition. He and his wife Amy have six children, and they love seeing people grow in Christ.

Why We Exist |
|
Hickory Presbyterian Church Exists So That People May Enjoy Christ, Embody His Grace, and Extend His Gospel
We want to be a church where hearts learn to enjoy the beauty of Jesus through worship and the ordinary means of grace.
We want to be a people who embody the gospel in everyday life.
We want to extend the good news of Christ to our neighbors through our words, our love, and our witness.

Our Story |
|
How We Started
Hickory Presbyterian Church began in February 2025 when a small group gathered in a home for worship, prayer, and fellowship. In God’s kindness, that group has grown into a new Christ centered community in Hickory.
We thank the Lord for His faithfulness and look forward with hope to what He will do among us and through us in Hickory and beyond.
We Would Love to Meet You This Sunday
