Rev. Tripp Castell
Pastor, Hickory Presbyterian Church
Tripp Castell has a deep love for Jesus, His church, and the city of Hickory, NC. A Hickory native, he graduated from Hickory High School and is grateful to be planting a new church in his hometown, a place where he was raised and where he and his wife Amy have raised their six children. They have been married for 31 years and are now proud grandparents of two.
Before entering full-time ministry, Tripp earned a degree in Finance from East Carolina University and worked as an executive recruiter. In 2013, he graduated from Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte, answering God’s call to pastoral ministry. He has served as pastor in Lincolnton, NC and South Charlotte, where he faithfully shepherded congregations and developed a heart for church planting.
Now, with a strong desire to see gospel renewal in his hometown, Tripp is leading the launch of Hickory Presbyterian Church. His passion is to see people come to know Christ and grow in their faith. He would love to connect with you, hear your story, and invite you to be part of what God is doing in Hickory.

Preaching Philosophy |
|
Expository, Pastoral, Christ Centered
Pastor Tripp’s preaching is expository, walking through books of the Bible verse by verse with the aim of exalting Christ, applying the gospel to everyday life, and strengthening believers for the week ahead.
His preaching is pastoral and rooted in the Reformed tradition, with a heart to see people not just informed by Scripture but transformed by it. Every sermon aims to show how the text points to Jesus Christ and what it means for how we live.
