Visiting a new church can feel overwhelming. We want to make your first Sunday simple, warm, and clear. Hickory Presbyterian Church is a growing community that gathers each week to worship Christ, hear His Word, pray together, and enjoy genuine fellowship.
When and Where We Meet
Sundays at 10:30 AM
We worship at Northview Middle School Auditorium, located behind Publix on Highway 127 at 302 28th Ave NE, Hickory, NC.
When you arrive, simply follow the posted signs for worship. Please park on the front side of the building and enter through the front doors. Once inside, the auditorium is to the right.
You will be greeted by friendly faces who are happy to welcome you and help guide you where to go. If you have any questions or need assistance, someone will be there to help.
We want your first visit to be easy and welcoming, and we look forward to meeting you.

What to Expect
A Warm Welcome
You will be greeted by people who are genuinely glad you are here. Our church family includes young adults, families, retirees, and children. Whether you have been in church for years or you are exploring Christianity for the first time, you are welcome.
Christ Centered Worship
Our service is simple, reverent, and joyful. We sing hymns, read Scripture, confess our faith, pray, and hear the preaching of God’s Word. Everything centers on Jesus Christ.
Biblical Preaching
We walk through books of the Bible verse by verse. Our aim is to exalt Christ, apply the gospel to everyday life, and strengthen believers for the week ahead.
Service Length
Our worship service normally lasts about one hour.
What Should I Wear
Some come in jeans. Some come in dresses or button ups. Wear whatever is comfortable for you. We care far more about you than what you wear.
Families and Children
Children are welcome in the service. We love having little ones with us. Families can sit anywhere they feel comfortable.
After the Service
Most Sundays we stay for fellowship, conversation, and a shared lunch the first Sunday of the month. You are warmly invited to stay and get to know our church family.
Meet the Pastor
Rev. Tripp Castell grew up in Hickory and came to Christ through a church plant 25 years ago. He has served in pastoral ministry for many years, including helping plant a church in Charlotte and pastoring in Lincolnton. The Lord has now called him back home to plant Hickory Presbyterian Church.
Pastor Tripp’s preaching is expository, pastoral, Christ centered, and rooted in the Reformed tradition. He and his wife Amy have six children, and they love seeing people grow in Christ.

Our Story
Hickory Presbyterian Church began in February 2025 when a small group gathered in a home for worship, prayer, and fellowship. In God’s kindness, that group has grown into a new Christ centered community in Hickory. We thank the Lord for His faithfulness and look forward with hope.
Current Sermon Series
We are currently walking through the Gospel of Mark verse by verse as we explore the person and work of Jesus.

Why We Exist
Hickory Presbyterian Church exists so that people in Hickory and beyond may enjoy Christ, embody His grace, and extend His gospel.
We want to be a church where hearts learn to enjoy the beauty of Jesus through worship and the ordinary means of grace.
We want to be a people who embody the gospel in everyday life.
We want to extend the good news of Christ to our neighbors through our words, our love, and our witness.
